Boosog na Boosog!

When one of my blogger friends came home to Cebu from Manila, we decided to meet up and have dinner.

It has been quite a while since we last saw each other, so even if we weren't that super close, it was really nice to catch up.

Before we met up, she was actually aboard a ship on the way to Cebu City from Camotes Island, prancing around on the beach and enjoying her vacation, so I can only imagine how tired she was when she finally met up with us. On top of that, she actually didn't have a place to stay for the night as we found out later on. She was already making arrangements via text while we were together, but ended up staying at another one of our friends' place.

We planned to have dinner somewhere in Ayala Center Cebu, and met at Figaro's. We chatted for a little while, trying to settle where we were going to have dinner. After about half an hour later, we decided to get out of Ayala Center and go to The Gallery along Juan Luna Avenue where a Filipino restaurant supposedly has really good Mongoes.

Brasco Pizza and Pasta Place

I haven't been to a pizza place in a while so I've decided to look up some old pictures on my hard drive and sure enough, there were pizza stuff on it.

Located in The Gallery along Juan Luna Avenue in Cebu City, Brasco Pizza and Pasta opened its very first branch, hoping to attract the growing pizza lovers crowd.  Although some may say that the place is not too suitable for those who have really tight budgets, but I would say that a closed space, a well-leveled table and chairs are good enough a place to eat at. Anyway I got to try the Marinara pizza, which is a winner in my opinion. Seafood pizza can make my day anytime.

Spicy Thai Dishes at Krua Thai

It was one of those bored-out-of-mind days again, and we were strolling around the mall, trying to find something useful to do. On days like this one, I would normally be in front of my computer, trying to find something to do, watching anime, or trying to put up at least one blog post.

But here I was, doing nothing but walking around in the mall, when we suddenly smelled something that caught our senses. It was the glorious smell of spices. It was then that we realized that we were standing right in front of a Thai restaurant.

Meeting at Off-Roads

It was a fine day after the Sun Halo hullabaloo. A friend and I set up a meeting on this particular day to plan about working at home at a coffee shop right next to the office that I'm currently working for. We set the meeting for 5PM and I arrived earlier than she did, so I ordered something to cool down with. The best thing about Off-Roads is that the food and drinks aren't too pricey, the Wi-Fi is great and the whole shop is lined up with power outlets where you can charge without worrying about extra charges if your battery goes dead and you wanted to charge your stuff up.

I got myself an Oreo Mix, which is something that I'm pretty sure was just blended crushed ice and oreos with whipped cream at the top.

Seafood and More Seafood at Neo Neo

My old teammates and I originally planned for a getaway, but due to our schedules not aligning the way we wanted, we settled for a dinner instead. So instead of swimsuits and water splashing, we were all behaved, sitting on a table together and having conversation over dinner. So we agreed to meet up at Neo Neo, a restaurant in Mabolo, Cebu City.

I've always loved seafood, but seafood in Cebu City is actually pretty costly. I ordered some Calamares, which actually cost me around Php175, but it was all worth it, because the serving was huge. I also just had to have some Sinigang na Hipon which made me shell out another Php144, but since it was a team dinner, we all ended up splitting the bill. The others had some Pork Belly, which I forgot to take a photo of, as well as some Seafood Pancit Canton. Pictures are after the jump.

Cream and Bake's

Here's one place that I have been meaning to go back to. Cream and Bake's. This is actually where we celebrated Atty. Ethelbert Ouano's birthday some months ago. We ate a variety of foods and if only I can still remember what each food was called, I would so delightfully detail everything down to the minute.

Most of the food served were definitely Filipino dishes, but whether or not you're Filipino, as long as you love food, you would love everything we had on the table. There was seafood, chicken, pork, and CAKE!

Yogurt in Cebu Anyone?

Just last week, the Cebu Bloggers Society and I got invited to another store opening. I was pretty excited about this one, because it was a yogurt store opening! Aside from the packed yogurt being sold in supermarkets, I've never really had any other type of yogurt at all.

So when the opportunity came, I grabbed it. It was the grand opening of Frizberry Yogurt at SM Cebu City. Mall hours start at 10AM and I got to the stall at around 10:30ish because I got lost. Nevermind getting lost, at least I made it in time for the actual opening.

Curry-Flavored Noodles

Just this Monday, my little sister came back from her vacation at Zamboanga City. She came back with a fever, body pains and really bad sneezing. So what comes to mind first? She just arrived from a trip, and she ends up with something that can be considered as influenza. Could it be that she has AH1N1?

I hope not. I really do. Anyway, little sister's doing good so far, but while I was babysitting for her, I had to look for the container where they put the rice in and found something that I have not had in quite a number of years already.

Little sister brought with her my favorite instant noodles, the curry-flavored noodles from Maggi which can only be bought from the barter trade market in Zamboanga, which has been imported from Malaysia. The noodles are spicy, and if you have a stuffed nose, just get a whiff of this and the stuffiness will go away in no time.

Trust me, it's super good. :)

Rai Rai Ken!

Honestly, I've been wanting to try eating at a Japanese restaurant since forever. But I never really got to do it, nor even plan to do it---until last night. Hazel and I planned to just submit the requirements to update our addresses at work and we jsut got lucky that the HR lady still entertained our request for the update. After the grueling process of getting all that done, we both headed to the Ayala Center so that we can pick out some fabrics and designs for the upcoming masquerade ball that's being sponsored by the company we work for as a celebration to the First Anniversary of the account that we work in.

But before we went to the fabrics section, we did a little side trip: Rai Rai Ken.

Mamma Maria!

On June 12, 2009, the Cebu Bloggers Society got invited to the Grand Opening of the newest pizzeria in town, Mamma Maria's Pizzeria. Mamma Maria's is not fairly new to the Philippines, those who have gone to Bacolod City have already tasted its pizzas, so when I mentioned that I was at the Opening, one of my co-workers who actually came from Bacolod, thought I was kidding. He said that Mamma Maria's is one of the places that he missed about Bacolod, and he started talking about the boat-shaped "empanada", as he described it. LOL

Anyway, the hostess, Jay Montelibano, as I recall, was very nice. She invited us through McBilly of McBilly.com. The blessing was scheduled at 5PM, but since I kinda got lost and I had to text message McBilly about the actual location of the pizzeria, I got there at approximately 5:30-ish. I didn't miss the entire event though. I even got to see the mayor cut the ribbon. I was kinda getting worried about the CBS peeps since the ONLY familiar blogger I saw around was McBilly and the early birds were newbies in the CBS.
